Genre discussions with the family. "Now that we have a detective stopping by to take shelter from the rain, we've got all the major factors lined up." [EP6] Form of a small crystal. Breathe on it to receive the memory.

Mystery is a genre that ended a half century ago. )

Skill 11

thinkoutsidethebox: (p4)
English. Form of a bay leaf. Eat the whole thing.

Unlike SOME PEOPLE (coughBattlercough) she's probably fluent. Mostly she just uses a few words for effect, though. <Good>.
thinkoutsidethebox: (p25)
Logic error; abandoning Battler to his closed room. [EP6] Form of two palm-sized lion statues in a team colored bag. Break them. 1/2 uses remaining.

...I'll do this one later... It includes everything from the discovery of the letter to leaving Battler to his fate.

Tricking Battler into retroactively giving her three rooms worth of duct tape. [EP6] Form of a brightly colored party cracker. You need a friend or teammate to hold the other end (and it shares the memory).

Sure, that's fine. ......I'll rewrite the tale. )
thinkoutsidethebox: (m48)
Watching Shannon and George. "Battler-saaan, when will the crimes start?" [EP6] Form of a water gun; spray one of your teammates to receive your memory. 2/3? uses remaining.

...I do understand, more or less. Love can at least become a motive for murder. )

Notes:
- UGH BATTLER STOP PITYING ME
- who even likes George though, seriously, he's kind of a jerk, if this is what love is supposed to be like I'll pass

Skill 10

thinkoutsidethebox: (m65)
Detective proclamation. Form of a slice of bread.

This is an extremely meta Umineko skill and therefore requires a somewhat complicated writeup.

Those words, which seemed to be utterly ridiculous at first, were words of power which had come from a world on a much higher plane than the one they were in. )

...Functionally I don't expect this skill to be usable pretty much ever. But it could happen.
thinkoutsidethebox: (m13)
Stealing chemicals from Kinzo's study [EP5] Form of four tea cookies. 3/4 remaining.

This isn't a science mystery, so I'll spare you the details. )
thinkoutsidethebox: (m37)
The final duel with Beatrice. [EP6] Form of a heart shaped out of ruby-colored crystal. Shatter it. One use.

For once... it feels as though our chances for winning are 50/50. )
Notes )
thinkoutsidethebox: (m59)
Battler used the rain gutter!! Blue truth, effective! What do you think, my master?! [EP5] Form of a sugar holly leaf - 3 leaves and a 2 berries. 4/5 remaining.

They had no clue what Erika was complaining about all of a sudden and started to whisper, staring at her with cold eyes and dubious faces... )
thinkoutsidethebox: (m24)
Sealing Kumasawa and Gohda's rooms in the guesthouse. [EP5] Form of a miniature goblet, with a slightly less miniature glass vial. Fill the goblet and drink. 2/3 drinks remaining.

Where there is a detective, there will be a crime. I foresaw that some kind of crime would take place, so I used this to seal away people whose alibis might otherwise be lost. )

Solving the epitaph with Battler. [EP5] Form of a small hand mirror with a dark gray casing. 6/7 views remaining.

I'm only looking for the gold because I want proof that my reasoning was correct. Even if I found it, I wouldn't pocket it for myself, so don't worry. )

Watching the lovers' trials. Yawn. [EP6] Form of a palm sized teddy bear. Give it a squeeze to get your memory. 1/2 uses remaining.

I'm too lazy for this )

--

Eidetic memory. Form of a nice ripe pear.

Erika has a photographic memory. And her hearing ability is on par with a tape recorder.

SIMPLE ENOUGH.
thinkoutsidethebox: (m43)
Natsuhi's why-dunnit. "'I love him'? Who would believe that when spoken with the white text?" [EP5] Form of half a fake diamond. Break it.

Romance is unnecessary for a detective. I don't think I've ever used the word romance except to explain the motive for murder. )

Notes:
- This is immediately post "victory" but she's not very happy about it.
- "All non-red letters are falsehoods that exist to deceive me!!" this is why you don't have friends Erika
thinkoutsidethebox: (s10)
Sealing Kumasawa and Gohda's rooms in the guesthouse [EP5] Form of a miniature goblet, with a slightly less miniature glass vial. Fill the goblet and drink to receive your memory. 2/3 uses remaining.

After all, it was an unsettling night, and a massive amount of gold had just been discovered. Many sorts of crimes might have occurred. )
thinkoutsidethebox: (m25)
Trial: Battler's failure of an objection [EP5] Form of a Jasper-colored feather. Stick it behind your ear. 2/3 uses remaining.

Rest in PEACE, Ushiromiya Battler. What a SHAME. I thought you were a more capable person than THIS. )
thinkoutsidethebox: (m1)
First twilight argument with Battler. [EP6] Form of an orange. One use (eat it all).

Though Battler and Erika were enemies, it looked to Beato as though they were having a little fun doing it. )
thinkoutsidethebox: (m56)
Bern's final reward; the wedding~ [EP6] Form of a brass feather. Spin the quill between your hands. 3/3 uses remaining.

Warning for rape threats and rape imagery.

And now, I'm finally the one dealing out the pain...!! )

Skill 7

thinkoutsidethebox: (m24)
Encyclopedic knowledge of puzzles and trivia. Form of a twig with a small blueberry on it.

Representative script excerpt )

Erika is naturally good at puzzles to start with, but she also is familiar with a huge catalog of standard puzzles and logical trivia to the point that she doesn't even have to work them out! Practically, this skill gives me permission to google things and assume Erika knows them.
thinkoutsidethebox: (m49)
"Please stand. On one leg." [EP5] Form of a small wooden box. 6/7 uses remaining.

Erika's main redeeming feature was that she never lost interest in anything )
thinkoutsidethebox: (m39)
Overall this heart worked out amazingly and people pretty much saw and did everything I wanted them to! Everyone in the heart could probably make a reasonable guess at what everything meant I think. But of course this write up is for details, changes and posterity.

I love you all even if Erika doesn't )

Questions, comments? Let me know if I missed anything because I probably missed things!

Thank you once more to everyone who played in my heart, it exceeded my every expectation. ♥
thinkoutsidethebox: (m48)
Missing corpses. [EP5] Form of a Jasper-colored scrap of paper. Eat it. (One use.)

It's not as though seeing their dead faces is going to lead to any developments. )
thinkoutsidethebox: (m62)
Ensuring the victims of the first twilight are really dead. [EP6] Form of a black rose stem with five sharp thorns. Prick your finger on it. 4/5 uses remaining.

Without the detective's authority, I can't tell whether the victims are dead or faking. )
