[Strangely, all the lights in the entrance hall are off, leaving the occasional flashes of lightning from outside as the only illumination. When Battler closes the door, there's a distinct 'click' to signal that he's locked it.]

Very dramatic. A bit cliche, though.

Cliches exist for a reason. You just can't beat the classics.

But really. Is this supposed to be mystery or horror?

Well...there's not much point to making a mystery if the culprit is already known, is there?

If you like. There's not much to be horrified of yet, though, is there? Just a bit of darkness.

Did I say that? Must have been a slip of the tongue.

[It's difficult to make out in the darkness, but the door to the dining hall seems to be open. There's a faint smell coming from that direction, as well.]
