Raven's beliefs are significantly closer to "it's completely arbitrary." :|b Not quite completely, but... In the most general sense Raven thinks of the teams as like his guilds in canon - pseudo-anarchic groups of people who work together and support each other but don't have real laws except what they make and agree on. But the major difference is that guilds are 100% voluntary. You join whatever guild you want and agree to its laws or you're kicked out. So he has a pretty strong awareness that in Aather they are all just stuck with people against their will and there's no real... getting out of that if you don't like it. IT IS CONVENIENT THAT MOST OF THE TIME IT SEEMS TO WORK OUT OKAY, BUT STILL.

Raven loves his team and thinks they are great and he would have been lost without them, but he doesn't... really think that's essential, or that teammates are naturally more important than anything else, or that they should necessarily be striving to be super close and important to each other! Which does tend to make him insecure about his necessity to the team at times, although his sense of his role there is obviously shifting a lot lately. As far as his Tiger's Eye leadering goes he's much more focused on making them functional and able to work together and live together happily rather than being the best loving team or even necessarily agreeing on things. Though again that's partially a guild thing, since even guilds who have chosen to work together kind of fight over stuff all the time and need constant mediation because that's how guilds work.

This outlook has definitely caused him some strife with teammates in the past though! Particularly Mitchell. So in the interests of diplomacy he hasn't actually said anything like "you know we were all just assigned here, it wasn't our choice" in front of his team in quite a while. :'D

Erika was told in her intro that the teams tend to have common characteristics among their members! And believes that tends to be more or less the case from observation, although she would probably say something more like that the teams have complementary personalities. Jasper works well enough for her, anyway, even if she wouldn't really say they're like her because she's a narcissist. If she has to be on a team, which apparently she does because that's how it works, they could be significantly more annoying. But she's pretty sure that it's a matter of someone organizing it deliberately for functional teams rather than "destiny" because w/e destiny.

...Kotetsu is really new and a knight and hasn't really thought about it at all! Well, he's managed like "I want to save people and I am a knight; knights are supposed to save people so that's good." He's cool.

Things you want to do with Beatrice. :3
