It's not meant to be unbreakable. But if you rip it, you won't be able to repair it the way it was. And so you will have deliberately stepped outside the bounds of this arrangement. If you want to participate, don't break it.
In many circumstances, verbal bondage can serve just as well as physical... though in this case I'm sure it's good to have the concrete reminder as well. And it will hurt when I rip it off your skin, of course.
